Same curiosity.

Code is one part of the story.

Technology moves fast.
Stay human.

I’m Christopher, an Advanced Software Engineer and Tech Lead for Kroger Design System at Kroger Technology & Digital. Since 2006, I’ve been turning ideas into working experiences, with stops at Salesforce and ExactTarget along the way.

With the advent of LLMs that can increasing write code better and faster than humans, I've found myself alongside an army of developers who are dealing with the same initially depressing question: "Why am I even here?". Two decades of lovingly hand-crafting code, deeply caring passionately about "The Good Parts" of JavaScript and the art of "writing code" suddenly feel almost entirely irrelevant. But not when I remember the whole reason I got into this in the first place: Creating things that make the world a better place. Whether I'm writing all the nitty-gritty code by hand or leveraging the most powerful technology available to me, it doesn't really matter. The goal and passion remains the same: Build stuff people want to use. AI just makes it all the easier to accomplish that goal. Cope? Maybe. I'll spend the rest of my career figuring that out.

But life doesn’t fit in a browser window. I love to paint, play music, write, make things with my hands, go bouldering, and serve as a deacon at Sts. Constantine and Elena Orthodox Church in Indianapolis. The common thread? Curiosity, creativity, and connection.
